Review – COSRX Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence

First treatment essences are products that typically contain some form of yeast (or other) ferment, and they are meant to be applied prior to any toners or other essences. They are usually known for their ability to reduce redness and improve skin health and function. As a rosacea sufferer, anything that can possibly reduce redness is going to be an attractive option.

My first product in this category was the Nature Republic Saccharomyces The First Treatment Essence. I really enjoyed that product, but it was unfortunately discontinued and I was put on a mission to find a replacement. The COSRX Whitening Power Essence has been my first attempt.

Review – Purebess Galactomyces 80 Eye Cream

When it comes to eye creams, I’m at a loss for what to look for. For a long time, they were never on my radar at all. I think the number one complaint people have with their eye area is dark circles, but a topical product is pretty dang limited in what it can do to fix those. A lot of eye products are also targeted towards anti-aging: reducing fine lines and wrinkles, reducing puffiness and bags, etc. I’m not too concerned about focused anti-aging on my undereye area just yet, so what’s left? What am I treating exactly?

The conclusion I came to is that I just need something moisturizing enough to keep the skin around my eyes plumped and hydrated, yet light enough to not cause problems like milia in the delicate undereye skin. I decided upon the Purebess Galactomyces 80 Eye Cream as a starting point because it gets very well reviewed and it’s almost criminally cheap (something highly unusual when discussing eye creams).
